Karen A. Dobosz, B.S., P.T.
- Owner/Director of Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, and Women's Health
Karen Dobosz established
Shoreline Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in 1991 as an independent
physical therapist owned practice. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania,
Karen has continued
to keep current with changes in surgical techniques and rehabilitation
by attending continuing educations courses every year. Her recent specialized
training includes aquatic rehabilitation, rehabilitation of the throwing
athlete, trends in ACL reconstruction and physical therapy, and evaluation
of the foot and ankle for orthotics.
Karen is certified
in the evaluation and treatment of lymphedema, using a protocol
that is one of the few backed by medical research. Karen is
a member of the Connecticut
Physical Therapy Association as well as the American
Physical Therapy Association.
Cheryl Schechter,
R.P.T.
Cheryl Schechter,
R.P.T. is a graduate of Quinnipiac University currently holding a Bachelor's
Degree with additional Master’s Degree coursework
completed in Orthopedics I & II and Orthopedic Surgery.
In addition to her 20 years of experience as a Senior Staff Physical
Therapist, Cheryl is also a member of the Housatonic Community College
staff and works as a lab instructor with Senior PTA students.
Specialties include
Arthroscopic Shoulder and Knee Rehabilitation, Joint Replacements,
Headache and TMJ, Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Pediatric Orthopedics,
Sports Rehabilitation and a unique, inclusive program of Industrial
and Back Education. We now offer this ‘Back School’ to
our lower and upper back injury patients.
Her wide range of treatment settings includes extensive Orthopedic Rehabilitation
as well as Home Care and skilled nursing facilities.
Cheryl is also the Supervisor of our Aquatic
Therapy program (something
that no other Physical Therapist owned practice offers in Milford) and
treats patients twice weekly at the Milford YMCA.
Cheryl lives in Orange with her husband and two children.
Lisa Hanelt, P.T.
Lisa Hanelt, P.T
is the newest addition to Shoreline Physical Therapy. She
is a graduate of Quinnipiac College and comes to us with over 8 years
of experience in outpatient physical therapy.
Lisa has a strong
background in Manual Therapy and is dedicated to treating every patient
as an individual, not as a diagnosis. She has extensive experience
with multiple orthopedic issues including pre/post-op rehabilitation,
balance/gait training and neck/back pain.
Her special skills
include orthotic evaluation and casting and aquatic rehabilitation.
Lisa resides in Milford with her husband Mike, who is also a physical
therapist and their two young sons.
Morgan Reilly
Morgan is
currently celebrating a year with us here at Shoreline Physical Therapy.
She is usually the
first person you speak to when you call the office and handles all
patient scheduling, insurance authorizations and any other questions
regarding your treatment.
Morgan is an extremely
positive and friendly addition to our practice and is ready and eager
to help you with any of your questions or concerns.
